I am a traditional painter and illustrator from West Sussex where I live with my wife, a couturier.

 

I have always loved drawing, painting and creating. My background and qualification is in illustration and design. Though there have been times when I have done it less often, painting and creating has always been one of the constants throughout my life.

I mostly paint what I love and find beautiful. I believe if we slow down and take the time to look we will find beauty all around us - even in the mundane or unexpected. To see that beauty, respond to it through art and then share that with others is more part of who I am than just what I do. I believe that to create is part of what it means to be human.

​I work as much as possible from life rather than images. There is something in connecting with the subject in front of you which lives through the artwork. Currently I find myself working mostly in watercolour and ink, although looking through the portfolio images you will find works in oils and other mediums.
